About Our Church

Our Mission

It is the mission of Kaighn Avenue Baptist Church to advance the kingdom of God and manifest the love of Jesus Christ through developing spiritual enlightenment, social awareness, economic empowerment, saving souls, and proclaiming the lost through loving, forgiving, and healing, using Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible as our foundation.

Five Generations I joined Kabc when I was 15, and watched my family continue to serve in many ways. The Wilson family has more than five generations worshipping & serving with Kabc. The legacy of their love for God & Kabc is why I continue to fellowship here. Khia Bennet

Our Vision

The VISION is of a Church who PREACHES and TEACHES: a Church who will proclaim the Gospel to all the world. Mark 16:15 says, "And He said unto them, go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature."

The VISION of a Church who PRAYS to the God of our salvation: a Church who prays for the needs of one another, the community, the State, and the Nation. Phillipians 4:19 says, "But God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

The VISION is of a Church who STUDIES the Word of God: a Church who is fostering a true relationship with Him by the nurture and guidance of the Holy Spirit, enhancing faithfulness, knowledge, growth, discipleship, and commitment. II Timothy 2:15 says, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth."

The VISION is of a Church who LIVES for the LORD: a Church who lifts the name of Jesus so that all men might be drawn by Him: a Church who PRAISES God with a joyful noise that the world might know in whom we believe: an alive Church who worships Him in spirit and in truth. Isaiah 2:3 says, "And many people shall go and say, come ye and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in his paths, for out of Zion shall go forth the Law and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem."

The VISION is of a Church who will be a WITNESS for the Lord Jesus Christ: a Church from which the Gospel will go out from one generation to the next until the whole world is evangelized. Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

The VISION is of a Church who TRAINS YOUNG MINDS a Church who trains them to become responsible men and women carrying the torch that remains a lighthouse, shining bright day and night, guiding safely over the storms of life; developing spiritual giants in the army of the Lord. Proverbs 3:1-2 says, "My son, forget not My Law, but let thine heart keep My Commandments, for length of days and long life and peace shall they add to thee."
